Animal Control presently has 3 Animal Control Officers on staff and 2 employees that work in the shelter. We also have a staff of volunteers, if you would like to become a volunteer contact the office to fill out an application.
Fees and License Requirements
- Adoptions are $15.00 per animal
- If a dog is at least 6 months old, a county license is required. County licenses are $6.00 for single tag
- Kennel licenses for up to 10 dogs are $25, and 11 or morefor $30.00 Kennel licenses are available only at Animal Control office.
- County licenses are available at Animal Control office and the following Hardin County Vets: E'Town Animal Hospital, Heartland Vet Clinic, Helmwood Vet Clinic, Radcliff Vet Clinic, North Hardin Vet Clinic, Vine Grove City Hall, and West Point City Hall.
- Reclaim fees are $10 for first time; $30 second time; and $50 for third time. This is within a 1 year time frame.
- All dogs and cats over the age of 4 months must have a valid rabies vaccination given by a Licensed Veterinarian
- Our shelter now requires that an adoption application be completed before you adopt your new pet from us.
- You can also find your next pet by using Pet Finder and be sure to put KY59 as the shelter ID.
