As of 4:30 on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, the Hardin County Government Building has been closed to the public due to the COVID-19. Our staff will still be here working Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and can be reached by email, fax or phone. We will continue to to process building, electrical and land use permits and applications submitted electronically. At this time both the Building and Electrical Inspector are still performing inspections and we ask that you please practice social distancing while they visit your project. We appreicate your understanding, patience and cooperation as we work through this crisis together. Please call if you have additional questions or concerns.
The Hardin County Planning and Development Commission consists of five citizen members appointed by the Judge/Executive and confirmed by the Hardin County Fiscal Court. The Commission prepares and assists in the implementation of an area-wide comprehensive plan for long-range planning initiatives.

Who appoints the Planning and Development Commission board members?
- The Judge/Executive appoints members of the commission, and the appointments are approved by the Hardin County Fiscal Court.
