Solid Waste and Landfill

Hardin County Solid Waste Department manages garbage and recycling services in unincorporated Hardin County. We have 6 recycling drop-off locations available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Curbside trash service is mandatory in the unincorporated area. Please contact Hardin Billing Service at 270-735-9953 for your curbside service.

Who is responsible for trash collection in Hardin County?

Our current franchised waste hauler is Red River Waste Solutions. You can reach them at (270) 769-0211.

How do I set up trash service?

If you live in an unincorporated area of Hardin County, and you’d like to set up trash service, call Hardin Billing at (270) 600-0155.

Payments can be made by phone at (270) 505-4114.

Where is the county landfill?

The Pearl Hollow Landfill is located at 1620 Audubon Trace Elizabethtown, KY 42701.

What are the hours at the landfill?

How much is service at the landfill?

The gate rate as of April 1, 2023 is $36.33 per ton.
Minimum charge is 30.05 which includes the $1.75 state remediation fee.

What are the rules of the landfill?

All waste materials are accepted that are not regulated or defined by applicable federal, state, or local laws as hazardous, infectious, biomedical, explosive, toxic, radioactive, volatile and/or flammable.

All loads must be secured and tarped.

No tires, batteries, antifreeze, motor oil, paint, or other free flowing liquids.

Refrigerators and air conditioners must have Freon removed and proper stamp applied.

All vehicles will be weighed in and out.
