FAQs

How do I make a child support payment?

Payments can be made online using a debit or credit card by logging onto https://www.csws.chfs.ky.gov/csws/. You may also make a payment by check or money order to:

Kentucky Child Support Enforcement
P.O. Box 14059
Lexington, KY 40512-4059

Be sure to list your IV-D# on all payments.

How can I determine how much child support I will have to pay?

A child support payment calculator is available at https://www.csws.chfs.ky.gov/csws/ if you would like to estimate your approximate child support payment. This is ONLY an approximate amount based on the information you enter. Your child support amount will be determined by the court and could vary from the support calculator.

You do not have to open a case to use this calculator.

Where can I see how much child support I will be paid?

A child support payment calculator is available at https://www.csws.chfs.ky.gov/csws/ if you would like to estimate the amount of child support to which your children are entitled. This is ONLY an approximate amount based on the information you enter. Your child support amount will be determined by the court and could vary from the support calculator.

You do not have to open a case to use this calculator.

Where can I find my IV-D#?

Your IV-D number is a unique number that is assigned to your case. It should be on all written communication regarding child support and included on all payments.

If you don’t have your IV-D# you may call our office at (270) 769-5380 or the regional child support office at (270) 766-5085.

How do I contact my case worker?

Please call our office at (270) 769-5380 to speak to your caseworker. Because our call volume is high, you may receive your caseworker’s voicemail. You may expect a return phone call within 2 business days. You may also email your case worker at firstname.lastname@ky.gov.

Can I request a modification of my child support payment?

You can contact your attorney to file a motion for modification of your support based on certain changes in circumstances. If you do not have an attorney, you may be able to represent yourself and request a modification. If you need more information about modifications, please call our office at (270) 769-5380.

Please be aware that we do not represent either party to a child support action and so we cannot represent you. We represent the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
