What county departments does the Judge/Executive oversee?

  • The Judge/Executive oversees the following county departments: EMS, E-911, Emergency Management, Finance, Animal Care & Control, Solid Waste including collection and recycling, Pearl Hollow Landfill, Road, Engineering, and Code Enforcement.
  • In addition, Judge Berry and the Fiscal Court provide financial support to other officials including the County Jailer, County Clerk, County Sheriff, County Coroner, PVA, Planning and Development,  as well as the Hardin County Public Library.

How is the Judge/Executive engaged with other community organizations?

  • Judge Berry also serves on the board of directors for a number of community and government organizations. In these roles, he is actively engaged with the Elizabethtown-Hardin County Industrial Foundation, Lincoln Trail Area Service District, Radcliff-Elizabethtown Metropolitan Planning Organization, Central Kentucky Community Action Council, Transit Authority of Central Kentucky, Hardin County Extension, Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, and Lincoln Trail District Health Department.

How does the Judge/Executive advocate for Hardin County?

  • The Judge/Executive visits the Commonwealth’s capitol regularly to ensure state lawmakers and administrative officials understand Hardin County’s needs and opportunities.

Does the Judge/Executive have judicial responsibilities?

  • Judge Berry has no judicial responsibilities or enforcement authority, and is not part of the Kentucky District and Circuit Court Systems.
